Matt Bronfman is a Principal and the Chief Executive Officer of Jamestown. Mr. Bronfman joined the company as General Counsel in 1998 before becoming Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer in 2002. He became CEO in 2012 and is responsible for managing Jamestown’s global operations and overseeing corporate strategy and execution. During his tenure, Jamestown has executed more than $40 billion in transactions, grown its portfolio of assets in the U.S., and expanded into Latin America and Europe. As of December 31, 2024, Jamestown has assets under management of $14.2 billion.
Mr. Bronfman has more than 30 years of experience in real estate and has led the acquisition and repositioning of many large scale-mixed use projects, including Chelsea Market and Industry City in New York City, Ponce City Market and Buckhead Village in Atlanta, Raleigh Iron Works in Raleigh, the Innovation and Design Building in Boston, and Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco.
Prior to joining Jamestown, Mr. Bronfman practiced law at Holland & Knight. He currently serves on the boards for the Jewish Federations of North America, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta where he is past board chair, and Atlanta Beltline Partnership. Mr. Bronfman also is a member of the Atlanta Committee for Progress and serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Jamestown Charitable Foundation, which supports nonprofits to help make cities more enjoyable places to live and work.
He currently serves or previously served as board member for myriad national and international real estate organizations. He is past board member of the Jewish Funders Network, Epstein School, Weber School, and Metro Atlanta Chamber. Throughout his board positions and general community engagements, Mr. Bronfman has been actively involved in various community initiatives, including steering the Jewish Federation through the challenges of COVID-19, leading the menorah lighting on the Atlanta Beltline, and supporting the launch of the High Line in New York.
Mr. Bronfman graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Tufts University in Boston and graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern Law School in Chicago. He and his wife, Ronit Walker, reside in Atlanta and are the proud parents of three adult children.
