Atlanta, GA (January 9, 2024) – Jamestown, a design-focused real estate investment and management firm, today announced details for its new hospitality living concept: Scout Living. The initial offering, which features 405 one- and two-bedroom units, will debut at Atlanta’s Ponce City Market in 2024, with future iterations intended across Jamestown’s global portfolio.
The Concept
Scout Living was created for a new generation of consumers who want greater flexibility in how they live, work, and travel. Envisioned to provide the comfort and community of home with hospitality-style services and amenities, Scout Living will offer a fully furnished and serviced rental experience for flexible lengths of stay—from a single night to a year and everything in between.
“Over the past few years, there has been a shift toward a more meaningful integration of live, work, and travel,” said Michael Phillips, President of Jamestown. “Designed to meet that evolution and serve a broad range of lifestyles, Scout Living can be a starter residence for someone new to a city or homebase for someone living and working across multiple cities. With Scout Living, we are creating a new, flexible living experience that recognizes the need to anchor home in convenience, connection, and community.”
The Residences
The units include a full kitchen stocked with cooking essentials, dishwasher, and washer-dryer combo, as well as separate living and sleeping spaces.
Units have been designed to be full of natural light and are outfitted with comfortable design and artful objects. Scout Living provides access to food, services, and goods at the touch of a button, as well as private Wi-Fi networks, which will reach throughout the building. Guests will be able to request laundry and dry-cleaning services, restocking of necessities for longer stays, housekeeping, and more.
The Experience
Scout Living will prioritize flexibility with virtual check-in, keyless locks, and 24/7 access to building and tech support. The rooftop will welcome guests to a sleek pool, wellness studio, terrace, and reservable residential style living rooms and a chef’s kitchen, all with expansive views of the city. The second floor will be a place for guests to work or come together in lounge, meeting, and event spaces. Daily use will be open to Scout Living guests, though the second floor will accept bookings for meetings, specialty workspaces, and special events.
The Location
The first Scout Living will be integrated into Ponce City Market. The building will also feature 12,000 square feet of retail with 21-foot ceilings on the ground floor. The retail will be occupied by a food and beverage concept and convenience shopping providing essential grab-and-go items. A courtyard common area will provide walkable connectivity between the historic Ponce building, Scout Living, and the Atlanta BeltLine, giving guests seamless access to local and world-class dining and shopping the intergenerational community hub has become known for over the last eight years. Steps away, guests can also visit medical providers One Medical and Tend Dental, and fitness studios CorePower Yoga, Sweat EXT, and Forum Athletic Club, all at Ponce City Market.
Scout Living is part of Ponce City Market’s second phase, which also includes 619 Ponce, a four-story mass timber loft office building set for completion in 2024, and Signal House, a new residential building designed for a sophisticated urban community and lifestyle with anticipatory services, active amenities, and guided digital experiences to make every day seamless and unhurried.
The new development intends to generate greater community connectivity and encourage micro-mobility throughout the neighborhood. Micro-mobility features will include onsite bike and scooter parking, designated rideshare drop-off sites, electric bike and car share programs, and electric car charging stations. All three new buildings are targeting net neutral operational carbon, LEEDv4 Core & Shell certification, and Fitwel certification. The new development is also targeting all-electric operations and efficient building systems to reduce emissions to achieve net zero carbon operations. More information about the next phase is available here.
Ponce City Market first opened its doors in 2015 and has since been credited as a catalyst for revitalizing Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. It has become a must-visit place on travelers’ Atlanta bucket lists, a beacon in Atlanta’s skyline, and a destination for locals to gather, shop, eat, and live.
