David Godbout
Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer
David Godbout is a Managing Director and the Chief Investment Officer of Jamestown, and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He is responsible for developing and leading the firm’s global investment strategy. Mr. Godbout has more than 25 years of experience building and leading diverse investment and operating platforms throughout multiple market cycles. His broad experience includes investing in debt, equity, platform, and preferred structures in all major property types and across the risk spectrum from core to opportunistic. Mr. Godbout previously served as President and COO of Fort Partners, a privately held real estate and hospitality development firm, where he was responsible for leading and executing the company’s overall investment and operating strategies. Prior to Fort Partners, he was CEO of Trinity Hudson Holdings, with operating and P&L responsibility for a private REIT alongside partners Norges and Hines. Mr. Godbout led the strategy and value creation initiatives for a diverse portfolio of real estate assets including institutional joint ventures, the much-publicized Disney HQ development, Google Hudson Square expansion, and development of the Pelli-designed 76 Trinity Place. Before his role at Trinity, he co-founded Junius Real Estate Partners, a specialized real estate investment unit of J.P. Morgan Asset Management focused on investing J.P. Morgan’s balance sheet and on behalf of their global investors. Mr. Godbout led fund raising efforts and was responsible for the development, execution, and management of the investment strategy. He graduated from Boston University School of Management.
